While it is auspicious that today a man of color becomes the President of the United States, the truly astounding reality is very different. Today, as on so many other Inauguration Days, one person lets go of the reigns of government and another person takes them up at the bidding of the governed.
May God, the Father of creation, enlighten and guide President Obama an all in his administration. May He enlighten and guide each and every Congressman and Senator as they carry out their responsibilities to those who have elected them. May He also give both foresight and wisdom to all who serve the people through government.
May God do these things through the risen Jesus of Nazareth, His son, our brother, Savior, Messiah and Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit.
